Travertine

Travertine has been used in buildings for thousands of years. It is a beige-colored stone with unique color variations, veining, and cavities that many architects find attractive. Geologically, travertine is significantly closer to limestone than it is to marble. Due to the natural cavities, open channels, and veins that developed during its formation, travertine has a strong directional veined appearance and a corresponding variation in flexural strength.
